What a week.

I found that the tools we used this week useful and straight forward. I like the bookbuilder and the idea of creating a book on a subject matter that I am familiar with, sounds great. I am not an individual with strong math skills, so as we worked on the material this week I had to relearn the information, before I could create a lesson much less a book. That is were my struggles came from this week.

I noticed that in the readings this week, the ideas of the various web 2.0 tools exciting. However, the changing tools are going to cause other difficulties with in the class room setting as it is today. Solomon, G. and Schrum, L. (2007) state, "The most important aspect of the New Tech High model is that it was developed as part of an overall education reform effort adn to implement a 21st-century learning environment." So not only do we need to change the tools we are using in the schools of today, but we also need to change the way schools operate today for improvement to occur.
